A Little Hope Locked Away
Mar. 12th, 2019 06:34 pmPeter sits alone in the attic of the X-Mansion, tracing his thumb over his PINpoint. Two months ago, when he went up to the attic to seek solace in the Nexus -- he had only reached the attic. Just dust and boxes. It had been a disappointment to say the least.
A disappointment that grew when his PINpoint didn't allow him any access either.
The disappointment only got stronger every time there was no portal waiting him. And Peter wondered... what he had done to make the portal go away.
Peter tried to focus on being an X-Men. He tried to focus the others on his new team. Scott, Jean, Kurt... were all younger than him. And since they were young enough to need high school classes during the day, Peter only saw them during X-Men training. Which meant the younger mutants were forming a bond, that didn't include him.
Raven and Hank were closer to his own age, but they had a stronger relationship with each other, and with Xavier. Raven and Hank had history with the First Class. Which meant that it was often one of them to lead their missions, or to lead their training missions.
Ororo was just as separated from the others as Peter was. She spent a lot of time on her own. She was trying to recover from how Apocalypse changed her. But she didn't want to make friends right now.
Erik had left to start forming his own team of mutants. And Peter had no connection with him either. His father. There had been no effort made to establish any sort of relationship.
But he couldn't get away from feeling left out. Couldn't go to the one place he felt accepted.
All he could do these days was run. And run. And run. He was getting tired of running.
Peter searched through his PINpoint contacts, until he came to one that he had listed as a favorite. He typed out a message. And send it. He was gone from the attic, before the PINpoint dinged back that the message could not be sent. It was undelivered.
