[A couple minutes later, Scott's coming through the door that leads out onto the roof. He just watches Peter before going to sit next to him, giving him a soft shoulder nudge.]
[He just sort of stares at the joint as Peter puts it out. He's seen some of the non-jock popular guys smoking after school but never thought to join. Okay, he did, but only out of peer-pressure and wanting to seem cool. He didn't.]
Erik. [Maybe he should try being high when it comes to actually telling the man himself. Peter doesn't even feel any of the self-doubt he normally does]
He doesn't know. I just found out a few years ago.
[Peter moves to lean his head on Scott's shoulder. And closes his eyes for a moment. He is feeling really relaxed right now. Perhaps it is being high. Or maybe a little of it is telling Scott about his secret. And now it doesn't feel like he is lying to the man he loves is sleeping with.]
You didn't see his face when Mystique and I tried to talk to him. There was so much pain there... because of what happened with his wife and daughter.
And I... [Peter sighs. His voice gets small] What if I am not enough? I am already a disappointment to him.
[Hopefully Peter didn't feel any guilt about having kept that revelation of his a secret until now. Scott wasn't angry or upset at him, he understands. He brings a hand up to stroke the other's silver tresses.]
Peter, stop. You aren't being fair to yourself. Look at me. Hey, look at me.
[Scott cups the man's cheek and caresses it with a faint smile touching his lips.]
You're amazing. Sometimes an amazing idiot, but amazing nonetheless. He would be lucky to have someone as awesome as you as his son. And no, maybe you won't feel the void of what he lost, but you'll give himself something else he feels he's missing: family. Just talk to him, really talk to him.
[Peter sighs at the sensation of those fingers in his hair. His eyes snap open to look at Scott when he asks Peter to look at him. And he sighs again at the sensation of the caress against his cheek]
An amazing idiot? [He arches his eyebrow at that phrasing.]

Because it works every single time. At least let me pretend I have some self-control.
no subject
You do. A lot of it. I admire that about you.
no subject
I think you enjoy blasting it to smithereens.

And not ready to be a leader.
I tried so hard...
I was just too late again...
Man. This got depressing on me.
Sorry.

Seriously. Being impulsive isn't always so bad. You aren't out of control, so I don't see the problem.
Where are you?

When it is your dad... [Not stoned Peter will regret how his secret was revealed later]
On the roof.
no subject
On my way don't move.
[A couple minutes later, Scott's coming through the door that leads out onto the roof. He just watches Peter before going to sit next to him, giving him a soft shoulder nudge.]
Hey.
no subject
[He takes one more drag of his joint, before putting the thing out. He doesn't want it to bother Scott]
Hey... [His eyes are blown wide. Side-effect of being high]
no subject
Soo... your dad?

He doesn't know. I just found out a few years ago.
Raven knows. Storm too. Maybe the Professor...
no subject
[Because that's totally not what he expected to hear, it being the professor even less.]
Dude, talk about carrying a burden on your shoulders. Why haven't you told him? Do you want to?
